The Windows 10 May 2021 update was released on May 18, 2021. So always Microsoft is gradually delivering this update to Windows 10 PC, bit by bit. Windows Update should automatically install the 21H1 update on your PC, but this may take a few weeks. Here’s how to get it right now.
We recommend that you wait for Windows Update to automatically install this update on your PC. This is a very small change, especially a small update. So that’s the reason most people don’t get into the process. If you wait, you will be less likely to have a show-stopping bug on your PC.
How to Get the Update From Windows Update
You can check for updates Windows Update even if it doesn’t appear. If Microsoft has not yet approved it for your PC’s hardware and software configuration.
To check for Updating Windows, head to Settings> & Update Security>. (You can open the Settings app by pressing Windows + i.) Click “Check for updates.”
If Windows Update offers updates to your PC, you’ll see a link to the section below “View Optional Updates” “Update to Windows 10, version 21H1 feature”. To install the update, click the “Download and Install” link.
If you don’t see this option, Microsoft still can’t offer it to your PC via Windows Update. Or, your PC already has the update installed. Here’s how to check which version of Windows 10 you installed.
How to Force an Upgrade to the May 2021 Update
If you want to make improvements right now, you can do Microsoft’s Assistant Update Tool. Click on Microsoft’s Download Windows 10 page and click the “Update Now” button to download it.
If there is a newer version of Windows 10 available, in this case, the version 21H1-updater will make you. You will see a message like “This PC version 20H2 is running. The latest version is 21H1.”
Click the “Update Now” button to install the update on your PC.
If you find a bug, you can uninstall the update and go back to your old version of Windows 10 Settings> & Update Security> Recovery. However, this is required within the first ten days after you install the update. How it’s uninstalled here is the October 2020 update-it’s a process that will work on any major Windows 10 update.
