Amazon’s biggest shopping event of the year Amazon Prime Day sale is almost here.
This year Amazon Prime Day sale will run simultaneously in 18 countries around the world.
Amazon Prime membership is available at Rs 129 per month or Rs 999 per year. However, you can also get an Amazon Prime membership free of cost thanks to the ongoing price war in the Indian telecom industry.
Telecom service providers Vodafone, Airtel, and BSNL offer free Amazon Prime membership to their customers under some plans.
How to get a free Amazon Prime subscription
Amazon previously offered a trial version of its Prime subscription that was available for a month for customers to try out the service before paying for its subscription.
That test was pulled after Amazon Prime gained some popularity in India. However, operators including Airtel, Jio, and Vi have specific plans to offer free Amazon Prime subscriptions to their customers.
Free Amazon Prime subscription for Airtel users
Airtel is offering a free Amazon Prime subscription to its prepaid customers with Rs. 131 and Rs. 349 recharge pack.
However, the subscription is free for one month. But if you want something better, you can get a free annual Amazon Prime membership with Airtel’s Rs. 499 Rs. 999, and Rs. 1,599 postpaid plans. Rupee. 999 and Rs. 1,599 Airtel postpaid plans also come with an add-on connection option, so you can add up to two members of your family for free.
Apart from this, Airtel has a Disney+ Hotstar VIP bundle available for all three postpaid plans.
Airtel users need to either download the Airtel Thanks app or upgrade their existing Airtel app to the latest version and click on the Airtel Thanks banner to avail of this offer.
Free Amazon Prime subscription for Jio users
Similar to Airtel, Reliance Jio is offering free Amazon Prime membership on an annual basis for its customers using Rs. 399 Rs. 599, Rs. 799, Rs. 999, and Rs. 1,499 postpaid plan. Jio also offers Disney+ Hotstar and Netflix subscriptions with all these five postpaid plans to get even better deals on Airtel.
Apart from its postpaid users, Jio has Amazon Prime subscription available for Jio Fiber customers. You can get it with Rs. 999 Rs. 1,499 Rs. 2,499 Rs. 3,999, and Rs. 8,499 Jio Fiber prepaid plan. Jio Fiber customers are going for semi-annual and annual postpaid plans, which start at Rs. 5,994 are also entitled to get free Amazon Prime for one year.
Free Amazon Prime subscription for Vi users
Vi is offering its postpaid customers a free annual Amazon Prime subscription. 499 Rs. 699, and Rs. 1,099 postpaid plan. All these Vi plans include Disney+ Hotstar VIP membership and Rs. 1,099 Vi plan also brings Netflix access.
Once you get the relevant plan, you need to activate Amazon Prime on your number through your operator’s mobile app.
Once Vodafone customers have opted for any of these plans, they will need to download the Vodafone Play app from their respective App Store (Google Play or Apple App Store) and the promotion displayed on the home page to complete the sign-up process.
Free Amazon Prime subscription for BSNL customers
BSNL is also giving one year of Amazon Prime free to its customers. This offer is available for customers on mobile postpaid plans of Rs 399 and above and landline postpaid plans of Rs 745 and above.
Subscribers’ postpaid plan should be in “Active” status while availing of this offer. However, this free offer is not available for BSNL service numbers.
To avail of the offer, BSNL users need to open www.portal.bsnl.in and click on the Amazon Prime offer banner displayed on the home page.
It directs to the authentication page where they will be required to enter the eligible BSNL number and generate an OTP. Once the authentication is done, if you do not have an account, activate the offer by entering the Amazon login details or create an Amazon account.
