WhatsApp Gets Bulk Delete Feature Arrives:
WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature that will help users manage their storage. On Tuesday the messaging app announced a new feature that will let users delete bulk items and free up space. WhatsApp has been working on this feature for quite some time now and it is finally authorized for the users.
Announcing the new feature on Twitter, WhatsApp tweeted from its official handle. “We’ve reviewed easy delete items and a large amount of free up space. This new storage management tool can be found in Settings> Storage and Data> Manage Storage.” WhatsApp also shared a video on how the feature will work.
In the video, it can be seen when the user hits a ‘storage almost complete’ banner on their chat window when they hit the ceiling. If you tap on the banner full of storage, you will be taken to the Manage Storage section. Manage screen will show how much space is taken up in the media and how much other types of content are taken.
WhatsApp Gets Bulk Delete Feature Arrives: Here’s how you can use the feature:-
- Open your app and Go to Settings
- Go to manage Storage and data
- Then tap on Manage storage
Users will get a separate section that will show the forwarded messages and files taken up space that are larger than 5MB. This will make it easier for users to get rid of completely non-essential content. WhatsApp will also display how much space each chat has taken in a contact list.
Users can free up space files, media and messages by tapping Select All Options.
However, users need to keep in mind that the media will remain on their phones as they are deleting their applications. This feature only helps in cleaning the app storage and phone storage. If that’s something you want to delete your phone, you have to do it yourself. WhatsApp will start bringing this feature to Android and iOS users.
“We now offer forwarding multiple times that both large files and media bucketing. Sorting files by descending order size, and providing a way to preview files before deleting them. You can preview the media preview before selecting one or more items to delete.
New storage management tools are being delivered to users around the world this week. When available, users can go to Settings> Storage and Manage Storage to manage the new device, “WhatsApp said in a statement.
